INGREDIENTS:
2 Cups of spelt flour
3 Tablespoons non aluminum baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon of sea salt
3 Tablespoons of maple sugar
Optional: 8 dates
2 Tablespoons of sea moss
1 Cup of almond milk (Or coconut milk) - If you are using dates you will first need 2 1/2 Cups to blend the dates with.
1 Tablespoon of sea moss
Pour flour, baking powder, sea salt and maple sugar into a bowl. Mix well.
Optional Sugar Alternative:
Add 2 1/2 cups of nut milk to blender with sea moss and 4-8 pitted dates. Blend well.
Pour 1/4 cup of the mixture into the bowl of dried ingredients and begin mixing and kneading the dough. Slowly add more of the milk mixture until you've used about 1 cup.
Do not use more than 1 cup or your dough will be sticky. The dough should not be too dry and not too wet.
Pour 1 cup of nut milk with sea moss in the blender and blend well. Pour it into the bowl of dried ingredients. Mix and knead the dough until it is not too dry nor wet.
Optional: For best results wrap in plastic wrap and place in fridge for about 30min.
Set stove to medium. Pour a generous amount of oil. Break small pieces of dough off and hand roll them into balls. Place them in the pan. Fry each side for about 1 minute or until golden brown.
Keep turning until all sides are cooked and remove from pan.
